Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols,
responsible for blowing up the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building
in Oklahoma City on April 19, 1995. This despicable act was a
result of the assault on the Branch Davidian compound in
Waco Texas, by federal authorities in 1993. 168 innocent victims
died in the bombing orchestrated by him. Oklahoma City bomber was put to death by lethal
injection on at 7:14 a.m. (8:14 EDT) on Monday, June 11, 2001.
McVeigh, who admitted setting the bomb that killed 168 people in the Oklahoma City federal building, called off further legal efforts in early June to delay the execution. He is the first first federal prisoner to be executed in 38 years. |
